We were asked to write a blog about how we felt before leaving on this mission trip. Here is what I’m expecting…
I’m expecting the unexpectable which is ironic I realize, but I have no idea what to expect of my time in South Africa other than God’s presence. I believe that this trip will drastically change the entire team’s perspective, and unite us all for one cause. I hope that we can build a place of true communitiy where everything belongs to everyone and revolves around a love for each other and God.
Acts 2:45-47 And all the believers lived in a wonderful harmony, holding everything in common. They sold whatever they owned and pooled their resources so that each person’s need was met. They followed a daily discipline of worship in the Temple followed by meals at home, every meal a celebration, exuberant and joyful, as they praised God. People in general liked what they saw. Every day their number grew as God added those who were saved.
Basically, I wish that God would move in us, so that we can move others closer to him while also maintaining a wonderful harmony among our fellow believers.
I have no expectations, but I have a lot of hopes and wishes for this amazing adventure. I am not worried about much of anything, other than support raising, but God is God and He can make money come from trees if He wants too. So, I’m ok with that now. Also, my mother will be experiencing a tremendous amount of alone time with my brother and father. Pray for her. They are wonderful boys, but they gang up on us when we’re alone.
